I have not verified these instructions with the Easy Sense after a hard reset. I have verified them with the Airlink. If you do not follow these instructions, then SensorPort will freeze when you connect to a device. Here is what will happen:

  • you click connect in SensorPort
  • the PocketPC bluetooth selection window comes up
  • you select your device
  • the window freezes, nothing is clickable except the start menu.

At this point you can run other programs by gong to the start menu. But if you run SensorPort the screen will freeze again. The easiest way to fix this is to soft reset the PocketPC.

Inorder to use the bluetooth with the Data Harvest Easy Sense Q Advanced, or the Pasco AirlinkSI. You need establish a connection with the device.
You only need to do this once, unless your batteries totally die, or you do a hard reset of the pocketpc.

First you need to go to the Bluetooth Manager. One way to get there is:

  • go to the Start menu.
  • select Today
  • click the bluetooth icon in the bottom right corner of the screen
  • select Bluetooth Manager

Another way to get to the Bluetooth Manager

  • go to the Start Menu
  • select Settings
  • select the Connections tab at the bottom of the screen
  • select Bluetooth
  • click on the link at the bottom of the screen that says Bluetooth Manager

Once you are in the Bluetooth manager:

  • select the New menu at the bottom of the screen
  • scroll to the bottom of the window that comes up
  • select "Explore a Bluetooth device"
  • It will then show a window that is searching for nearby devices
  • Your easysense or airlink should show up.
  • You should verify the serial number if there is more than one device nearby
  • select your device
  • It will show a window will a area labeled "Service Selection"
  • select "Serial Port" in this Service Selection area.
  • click next at the bottom of the screen

That should be all you need to do. If SensorPort still doesn't work go back back to the Bluetooth Manager and double click on your device.
